Quinquennial Inspections

A CLEARER PICTURE

We are inspecting architects for numerous churches throughout the south-east of England. The undertaking of the quinquennial inspection is invaluable to understand the building arrangement and the repair issues and requires a systematic approach. The aim of the report is to ensure that repairs to historic fabric are clearly identified with a timescale for each recommended item.

A summary of the key recommendations is important at the front of the report as well as a proposed five-year plan in the form of a table at the end. We often integrate condition photographs into the text. The report can also review and provides commentary on certificates provided by the parish, such as servicing and insurance inspections for boiler plant, pressure vessels, lightning conductors and electrical testing, water testing etc.

The photographs show a few of the churches, of differing periods and scale, where we are inspecting architect.
