INTERIOR DECORATION AND REPAIR PROJECT

Interior decoration and conservation work to the main transepts, the seventeenth century Quire and side aisles undertaken in limewash, distemper and lime plaster repairs.

Repair of the early twelfth century clerestory to the Chapel of St Thomas with lime mortar to replace modern plaster and limewashing. Re-gilding and cleaning of Nicholson’s tester.

Refurbishment of the main entrance works with new automated south doors with contemporary engraved glass panels and internally a new stone ramp with blacksmith made handrails with brass caps to improve the accessible and every-day entrance. The project was tightly managed to ensure completion within a very tight timescale to enable Easter worship.
